The SCHUFA Consumer Advisory Board

The Credit Compass is supplemented by SCHUFA‘s Consumer Advisory Board. The Advisory Board

  • discusses the basis, methods and results of studies carried out within the scope of SCHUFA Credit Compass,
  • recommends scientific and/or other projects to be commissioned and makes suggestions regarding issues relating to society as a whole and priorities for publication.

The Advisory Board takes on the task of publicly “reflecting" SCHUFA’s consumer relevant topics. This includes deliberation and comment as well as suggestions and recommendations related to consumer policy.

Other main areas of the Advisory Board‘s activities include:

  • topics related to financial and consumer competence,
  • the behaviour of consumers and providers with regard to loans,
  • a reduction in the amount of asymmetrical information between lenders and borrowers,
  • transparency in credit-worthiness assessment and lending processes
  • and ensuring the consumer can deal with his or her own data in an autonomous, secure and informed way.
